Digital Humanities Bootcamp 2021
Annual Digital Humanities Bootcamp
Event Details
Curious about Digital Humanities?
Have a digital project idea that needs a kick start?
Looking for ways to get creative in your research?
Hoping to connect with other digitally engaged scholars?
Join us this August 19-20, 2021 for the fifth annual Mellon Digital Humanities Bootcamp, an intensive hands-on introduction to digital humanities across the disciplines hosted by the Vanderbilt Center for Digital Humanities.
Last year’s DH Bootcamp took place entirely online, and we were thrilled to have participants join us from all across the region. To support such wide participation again this year, we’re holding DH Bootcamp 2021 online as well, with an in-person closing reception for those in the Nashville area.
This year’s two-day program presents a menu of 75-minute virtual workshops on key digital humanities approaches, tools, and methods. Instruction will be available for a range of experience levels, from absolute beginner to advanced practitioner, and participants will have access to all workshop materials for asynchronous learning on their own time, even after the program ends.
The Bootcamp will close with an in-person reception at the Digital Humanities Center’s NEW location in the Digital Commons building at 1101 19th Avenue South in Nashville, where participants can experience our new lab space, meet with other members of the local DH community, and discuss ongoing and potential digital projects and partnerships.
Participation is free and open to all.
