Gender and Violence Panel
Project Dialogue is proud to collaborate with Vanderbilt Interfaith Council to bring a discussion that is very timely as well as needed for our campus. Unfortunately, our campus has been brought painfully aware of the violence that underlies at so many universities, including our own. As we all strive to understand and reduce the violence that is affecting so many we love, this event would will bring a new lens to understand and analyze it. We have brought together religious leaders from the Abrahamic faiths to discuss the roles that gender has to play, and the manner in which violence affects us all.
The panel will feature Dean Emilie Townes of Vanderbilt Divinity School, Rashed Fakhruddin – President of the Islamic Center of Nashville, Father Joseph Breen – retired Roman Catholic Priest, and Rabbi Shana Mackler – Congregation Ohabai Sholom. Come out to the new College Halls at Kissam at Vanderbilt to the MPR room 210 on April 1st at 6:30pm for an amazing discussion and honest discussion about this difficult topic. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
