10th Anniversary of 9/11: Commemoration, Discussion, and Screening
Please join the Vanderbilt community in recognizing the 10th Anniversary of September 11th with two compelling events.
On Sunday evening, we will welcome Lawrence Wright; author, screenwriter, playwright, and staff writer for The New Yorker magazine, to give a keynote address on his Pulitzer-prize winning novel “The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11”. A book signing will take place in the lobby after the address. “The Looming Tower” will be available for purchase here.
Monday evening, the commemoration continues with a screening of Wright’s documentary “My Trip to Al-Qaeda”. Bound to catalyze a thought-provoking discussion, Wright provides society with a perspective on 9/11 previously unexplored.
Both events will begin at 7:00pm in Vanderbilt University’s Langford Auditorium (http://www.vanderbilt.edu/map/ ) and are free and open to the public. We will hope you will join us as we remember one of the most significant tragedies in our history.
