Cheekwood Holiday Lights & Other Holiday Festivities
One of the hallmarks of the holiday season in Nashville is the Holiday Lights show at Cheekwood, where you can wander in a happy daze under the lit-up branches of the expansive gardens, taking in constellations of colorful light. It’s a transporting experience, and feels a bit like stepping outside of time – though it’s hard to say if you’ve been whisked away to the neon future or the simpler past, or both at once.
The lights are open from 5-10 pm every night, until January 5. There’s an open fire every night, with marshmallows ready to roast, and tickets are free with a Vanderbilt ID.
In the meantime, with the holiday season approaching, there’s plenty else afoot in Nashville, including the lighting of the 17-foot-tall State Capitol Menorah in the Historic Courthouse on the first night of Chanukah – see Chabad Nashville for more info – and the annual New Years’ Eve QDP dance party at Studio 615.
