Research Spotlight: Lauren Jackson and Teru Nakagawa
Feb. 11, 2020—CSB Researchers Lauren Parker Jackson and Teru Nakagawa with colleagues have figured out how a single protein complex could fit and sort different types of cargoes to different destinations. Understanding this complex is key, as some mutations are related to late-onset Parkinson’s Disease. Read the full paper published in Structure.
Research Spotlight: Walter Chazin
Feb. 10, 2020—CSB Director Walter Chazin (Biochemistry) and his lab revealed key interactions in a DNA repair pathway called nucleotide excision repair (NER) in a recent Nucleic Acids Research paper. This research may have implications for the treatment of the genetic disorder xeroderma pigmetosum (XP). Read more about this discovery.
