CSB co-hosts Discovery Lecture Series speaker

The Department of Biochemistry and the CSB will host Dr. Yifan Cheng, University of California San Francisco (UCSF), as The Discovery Lecture Series speaker on Thursday, March 9, at 4pm in 208 Light Hall.

Dr. Cheng is an investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) and professor of biochemistry and biophysics at UCSF. His lab uses cryo-EM to study structures of biological macromolecules, particularly integral membrane proteins and dynamic complexes. During his seminar, Single Particle Cryo-EM of INO80: The Basis of its Mechanistic Versatility, Dr. Cheng will present an introduction on the current technological status of single particle cryo-EM as well as his lab’s recent work on applying the technique to study ATP dependent chromatin remodeling complex INO80.
