Research Spotlight: Sanders Lab
Although the world might have shut down last year, Vanderbilt Researchers worked at home and during the research ramp-up to find ways to crack the code of SARS-Co-V2. Research from the Sanders Lab that targets the SARS-CoV-2 E membrane protein. The research focuses on the ability to create a ‘weaponized’ E protein which will be incorporated into viral particles undetected to kill the virus during assembly, thus ending its ability to infect other cells. Read more about how this ‘Trojan Horse’ research could be used to battle future viral outbreaks, or check out the video.
