Logistics for Graduates Day

Guests are welcome to park at any of the following on campus garages for Graduates Day and the Commencement Celebration: 

  • Terrace Place Garage (2010 Terrace Pl, Nashville, TN 37203) 
  • Wesley Place Garage (1921-2041 Scarritt Pl, Nashville, TN 37203) 
  • West Garage (1414 25th Avenue South) 
  • 25th Avenue Garage (2401 Highland Ave. Nashville, TN 37212) 

Shuttles from each garage will run beginning at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be ample signage and maps near each garage with instructions on navigating campus.

Logistics for Undergraduate Ceremony

Options for getting to GEODIS Park include shuttle service from nearby parking lots, ridesharing with designated drop-off locations, and limited on-site parking for guests.

On Campus Graduates: 

Graduates living on campus are strongly encouraged to take a shuttle from campus to GEODIS Park for Commencement. Shuttles will pick up and drop off at the intersection of West End Avenue and 21st Avenue beginning at 6:30 a.m. You will be dropped off near Lot 9 on Bransford Ave.  

Off Campus Graduates: 

Any graduate living off campus will be emailed a rideshare code to get to GEODIS Park. This voucher can be used within a ten-mile radius from campus.  

Guest Shuttles and Parking: 

You may request one parking pass for guests during the ticket claim process. GEODIS Park will fulfill parking requests, per availability by May 2. On-site parking is not guaranteed, so please plan accordingly.  

Guests can also park at the Fort Negley Lot (534 Chestnut St., Nashville, TN 37203) to catch a shuttle to GEODIS Park. Shuttle lot opens at 6:30 a.m. and will begin departing at 7 a.m.   

Additional shuttle transportation will be provided at the corner of West End Avenue and 21st Avenue beginning at 7:30 a.m. for guests. Please note that graduates will have priority in loading at this location.   

Rideshare: 

Guests and graduates may also use rideshare options to arrive at the stadium. Those will drop-off and pick-up in Lot 5 near Craighead St.

Guests attending Graduate and Professional Student Ceremonies can park at any of the following on campus garages:

Accessibility

For Graduates Day: There will be accessible seating in the Indoor Practice Facility at the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center.

For Commencement: There is accessible seating at GEODIS Park and requests can be made on-site on the day of Commencement.

Closed captioning will be shown at Graduates Day and Commencement.  Additionally, ASL interpretation will be available at both programs. At Graduates Day, a volunteer staff marshal can help direct you to the best seating section for viewing upon your arrival. At Commencement, please sit in designated spots in Section 134, nearest the Gate G entrance at GEODIS Park.

Traveling to Campus

Getting to Vanderbilt from Nashville International Airport
Take I-40 west to exit 209A. Turn left onto Broadway. Follow Broadway and veer right to West End Avenue. Allow approximately 30 minutes driving time from the airport to Vanderbilt University. If traffic is light, it will take less time.

Getting to Vanderbilt on the Interstates

  • From the north, take I-65 to I-40 west and then look for I-40 east to exit 209B. Turn right on Broadway.
  • From the east or south, take I-40 west to exit 209A. Turn left on Broadway.
    From the west, take I-40 east to exit 209B. Turn right on Broadway (US 70S).
    Follow Broadway and veer right to West End Avenue.

Vanderbilt is a mile and a half southwest of downtown Nashville and is approximately four hours from Atlanta, three hours from Birmingham, two and a half hours from Knoxville, three hours from Louisville and three hours from Memphis.
