First YEAH! Networking Conference on the SDG’s a huge success
Vanderbilt University, as part of the NSF funded Youth Environmental Alliance in Higher Education (“YEAH”) network, participated in the development and launch of the first international YEAH Conference. The Conference, called “SDGS for the SDGs: Students Doing Goal-Oriented Science for the Sustainable Development Goals, was an international, on-line event where students from across the globe participated in all aspects of a real, academic conference. Students shared their work through live and poster sessions, and conducted peer review of materials and sessions presented at the conference. Plenary speakers included Dr. Joyeeta Gupta from the United Nation’s Environment Programme (“UNEP”)’s Global Outlook, and professor at the University of Amsterdam, and Dr. William Sutherland of the University of Cambridge. The conference had 200 registered participants from the U.S., the U.K., Peru, Australia, Japan, and more!
