In July 2018, VCFC piloted a program called K-Camp, a nature-based learning experience for children entering kindergarten. This camp provides long periods of uninterrupted time outdoors in rigorous play and includes daily walking field trips throughout Vanderbilt University. Parents reported that children entered kindergarten confident to speak-up, manage their stuff, work collaboratively, and problem-solve.
The success of this program demanded its continuation and, therefore, VCFC is offering:
K-Camp dates are July 8 - August 2, 2019
Camp hours are 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Children must be signed in and out at their child care center
A K-Camp Parent Information Meeting is scheduled for February 20, 2019 at 1:00 PM in The Commons 2nd Floor dining room.
Parents will have an opportunity to meet camp staff and families from last summer.
