Facilities University

At Vanderbilt University, the Facilities Department strives to be the nation’s best by providing exceptional and innovative services to our community. We achieve this through our core values and unwavering commitment to customer service. To offer a deeper understanding of our work’s complexity, we have established Facilities University.

Facilities University consists of a series of 6 engaging classes designed to educate the Vanderbilt community on how the Facilities Department supports the university’s mission. Over these six sessions, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the key areas within the Facilities Department:

  • Vanderbilt University Maintenance and Operations (VUMO)
  • Business Operations Center (BOC)
  • Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC)
  • Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS)

We believe that every employee in our department adds immense value to our institution, and Facilities University is a testament to our dedication to continuous improvement and excellence.

Each class provides hands-on activities and exclusive tours, offering a unique, behind-the-scenes experience. This six-session program takes place at the Baker Building, 11th Floor, on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m..
