Every month, Brightspace will release new features and updates. You can get a comprehensive view of the updates here, but this blog post will give you a quick overview of what’s new on Brightspace!
Additional attachment types available for assignments
Links, Existing Activities, and Google Drive files can now be added to assignment posts and submission folders as attachments. This allows instructors to easily direct learners to reference materials or other resources required to complete an assignment. Previously only course files could be attached to assignment posts.
When linking to an existing activity, in Content area, the Google Drive icon and quicklink icon display beside links to those resources. All attachments display below their submission folder on the Assignment Submission Folders page for easy access.
Question Library – Import workflow changes
Changes to the workflow for uploading files to the Question Library lets instructors to complete file uploads without leaving the Question Library, Survey, Self-Assessment, Quiz creation workflow. The upload workflow also enables instructors to review package contents and remove unnecessary questions or sections.
In Question Library, Quizzes, Surveys, or Self-Assessments, click Import to view the new options.
Virtual Classrooms – iOS native application available
An iOS native application is now available for Virtual Classrooms to allow participants to join meetings from iOS devices. Participant features include Viewing (Presentation, Whiteboard, Shared Desktop, Webcams), Sharing (Webcam and Audio), and Chatting (Participate in Public and Private). Presenters must access Virtual Classrooms from one of the supported Desktop platforms and browsers.
