Yan is from China. She developed an interest in biostatistics when working at China National GeneBank at the Beijing Genomics Institute. In her free time, she likes cooking, hiking, and helping her daughter with craft projects.

Recipient of the 2021 Distinguished Teaching Assistant Award. Publications include “Risk factors for delirium among hospitalized patients in Zambia” (PLoS One 2021).
