“This community provides veterans with a truly exceptional network to help you succeed at Vanderbilt.”

Tell us about your military service. What did you do? Where did you serve? What do you value the most about your military service?

I was a Naval Aircrewman (MH-60R) for 6 years and was stationed in both San Diego, CA and Jacksonville, FL. My most valuable experiences from the military revolve around the people I served with. I was lucky enough to serve alongside some incredible people that taught me lessons about leadership, service, and life.

What are your thoughts on mentoring other students while at Vanderbilt? As a role model, what values do you want to share?

Throughout my military career I had leaders who were invested in me and I want to pay that forward. I’m happy to share values that were essential to my time in service such as discipline, leadership, and integrity.

While at Vanderbilt, what will be the focus of your studies and how do you plan to use this knowledge in your future career?

While at Owen, I plan to focus on Strategy, Operations and Analytics and then pursue a career in consulting.

What would you tell other veterans about the Bass Military Scholars Program?

The Bass Military Scholars Program is an excellent way to continue serving after leaving the military. This community provides Veterans with a truly exceptional network to help you succeed at Vanderbilt.
