“This program is truly unique. Outside of the military, there’s no other environment that can replicate the deep bonds formed through acts of selfless service.”

Tell us about your military service. What did you do? Where did you serve? What do you value the most about your military service?

I served my time as an infantryman in the 75th Ranger Regiment apart of 3rd Ranger Battalion. I had the privilege to deploy twice overseas as a squad automatic weapon gunner for this unit. What I valued most about my service was the bonds I formed with the unbelievably dedicated soldiers that never settled for mediocrity.

What are your thoughts on mentoring other students while at Vanderbilt? As a role model, what values do you want to share?

As a member of the special operations community, I’ve had incredible experiences that I will always look back on as valuable lessons. As a role model for Vanderbilt students, I want to emphasize that everyone encounters failure or makes mistakes at some point in their lives. These moments can be challenging but recognizing them as important lessons can lead to significant future success.

While at Vanderbilt, what will be the focus of your studies and how do you plan to use this knowledge in your future career?

During my time at Owen, I intend to concentrate my studies on finance and strategy. Completing my finance degree remotely while serving in the military sparked a deep interest in analyzing financial data and understanding its significance for a company’s success. I aim to apply the insights I gain at Owen to make strategic decisions that will contribute to the growth and success of the organizations I work with in the future.
