Testimonials from Former ASI Students
The best part of the program was learning not only technical skills, but also the mentoring and coaching for difficulties I have related to autism. What helped me the most in terms of communication with the Frist Center and my placement is that the people "Spoke like people" so there was a relatability without the feeling of being treated in a condescending manner. In terms of skill application and development, what both helped the most and I enjoyed the most was how an individual's existing skills and desired skills are taken into consideration. Also, seeing people doing what I hope to do some day, and how they bring who they are into what they do was something I view with a hopeful attitude for my own personal and professional development goals. – Raymond J. Yates, M.S. & M.S. Ed.
The best part of ASI was learning new laboratory skills like raman spec. My experience of the program was a great opportunity to learn independence. The program helped me by preparing me for a career in a forensics laboratory. – Melody Sheldon
