About the Roundtable

In workplaces, schools, and everyday life, neurodivergent and neurotypical people experience disconnects due to fundamental differences in their patterns of attention, communication, and sensory experiences. These disconnects are known as the “double empathy problem” and reflect difficulties in perspective-taking across neurotypes (e.g., between autistic and neurotypical people). We will discuss ways in which the double empathy problem emerges and what we might do to address it and build more inclusive organizations and better interactions.

About the speaker

Nationally recognized for his teaching abilities and his research on making health care delivery safer and workplaces more inclusive of neurodiversity, Tim Vogus teaches a class on leading teams and organizations that is among the most popular at the Owen Graduate School of Management.
