A genetic divider

Promethia: The fourth main point, according to Future Generations, is that at the present time, humans are evolving to become less intelligent with each new generation.  The most unintelligent, poorest, and least well-educated people are having the most children.  The US population alone may be losing as much as 1 IQ point each generation.  The last main point of Future Generations is that, unless society halts or reverses this trend, civilization will decline.  Herrnstein and Murray wrote The Bell Curve, which focused on the thesis that there are measurable genetic differences in intelligence levels between races (Site 4).   The book invented a hypothetical sample population and discovered that when the average IQ in the sample was decreased from 100 to 97, the social problems in the hypothetical sample noticeably worsened.
