Michael Aurbach (Kansas, Southern Methodist) is a sculptor who creates room-sized interactive installations that address various social and political issues. He has had more than 40 solo exhibitions of his work and lectured at more than 100 universities and museums throughout the U.S. In addition to his activity with the College Art Association, he has been the recipient of several major honors, including grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Southern Arts Federation. In 1995, he was selected from the studio faculties of more than 110 colleges and universities to receive the Southeastern College Art Conference Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement.
