Stoichiometry, Moles, and Molecular Weight

Problem:  How is the number of grams of a substance determined from its number of moles?
Answer:  Multiply the molar mass of the substance by the number of moles.

For 2.842 moles of nickel cyanide, C2N2Ni

1 mole of C2N2Ni = 110.73 grams C2N2Ni

(Calculation)

2.842 moles C2N2Ni X 110.73 grams C2N2Ni / 1 mole of C2N2Ni

 = 314.7 grams of C2N2Ni
