2. Products and Quotients
The rule of thumb which applies to most products and quotients is to round the answer so that it contains the same number of significant digits as the original number with the fewest number of significant digits. For example:
68.3 x 88.87 / 44.33432 = 136.648 = 137
Since 68.3 has the fewest number of significant figures, the answer is rounded off to three digits.
