Join the Band
The Vanderbilt Marching & Athletic Bands are open to all students attending Vanderbilt University as well as other Nashville area universities (including Belmont University, Lipscomb University, Nashville State Community College, and Trevecca Nazarene University among others).
If you are a transfer student, current student, or incoming first-year you are welcome to join the band.
About the Band
For over 100 years, the Vanderbilt Marching & Athletic Bands have entertained audiences as one of the largest and most diverse student organizations at Vanderbilt University. With members hailing from across the globe, the Athletic Bands has representation from all the undergraduate schools with majors ranging from mechanical engineering to music education. The Vanderbilt Athletic Bands also include students from other universities and colleges in the Metro Nashville area including Belmont University, Lipscomb University, Nashville State Community College, and Trevecca Nazarene University.
Spirit of Gold Marching Band Alumni have gone onto many diverse and successful careers in medicine, law, politics, education, research, engineering, as officers in the United States Military, and members of the United States Senate.
Support the Band
The Spirit of Gold Excellence Fund is dedicated to the ongoing improvement and strengthening of the Vanderbilt University Marching & Athletic Bands. Our donors are friends, alumni, and advocates of the University who recognize the value of the Athletic Bands experience and are essential to the program's success. While supplies last, by donating a cumulative $250 or more to the Spirit of Gold Excellence Fund (within a calendar year), donors will receive a Uniform Pillow as a "thank you".
