Welcome to the K.C. Potter Center for LGBTQI Life

Vanderbilt University’s K.C. Potter Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Life at Vanderbilt University (LGBTQI Life) is a cultural center, a place of affirmation for individuals of all identities, and a resource for information and support about gender and sexuality. LGBTQI Life serves all members of the Vanderbilt community — students, faculty, staff, and alumni — by creating educational, cultural, and social opportunities. The office also supports and advises LGBTQIA+ related campus groups and activities as well as members of the Nashville community and beyond.

What We Do:

  • Programming: Events and initiatives that promote professional opportunities, wellness support, and community building for LGBTQIA+ communities, including our signature events such as National Coming Out Day, Trans Day of Remembrance and Resilience, and Lavender Graduation Ceremony.
  • Affinity Groups: Affinity groups are an affirming space led by peers and staff for Vanderbilt students to come together around a shared identity and/or interest they hold. For a full list and meeting details of our Affinity groups, please visit our website.
  • Workshops and Trainings: The office offers P.R.I.D.E. training and various workshops for all members of Vanderbilt and the larger Nashville community. To request an event or for more information, please visit our website or contact our office.
