The Commodores are headed to Omaha for the 2011 College World Series and we want you to be a part of the experience. Below you will find a list of events fans are invited to attend in Omaha. Stay tuned as additional events are added.

Thanks to all the fans who supported the Commodores in Omaha, Nashville and everywhere in between this season.

Vanderbilt’s Nashville Events

Informal Nashville Welcome

Vanderbilt fans are invited to greet the baseball team as it returns to Vanderbilt’s campus on Saturday after concluding its season at the College World Series in Omaha.

The Commodores will be arriving to campus at approximately 1:15 p.m. Saturday behind the west side of Memorial Gym by the Parmer Field House. All fans are invited to attend, and congratulate the Commodores on their most successful season in school history.

Informal Omaha Send-off/Pep Rally

Date: Thursday, June 15
Time: Approximately 6:45 a.m.

Vanderbilt’s baseball team will depart Hawkins Field for Omaha and the College World Series on Thursday morning. A formal team send-off/pep rally that was tentatively scheduled for Wednesday will no longer take place due to Thursday’s early departure time.

However, fans interested in rising early to send the team on its way may still do so. The team bus will be located by the Parmer Field House on the west side of Memorial Gym and will be departing approximately 6:45 a.m.   

Nashville Watch Parties

Date: Every Vanderbilt Game

Nashville area fans who are not able to make the trip to Omaha will have an opportunity to get together with other Commodore faithful to watch the baseball team during each of their games in the College World Series.

Three area locations for Corner Pub, a corporate partner of IMG College and Vanderbilt Athletics, will host watch parties at their locations in Midtown, Mt. Juliet and Bellevue. All three locations will have the game showing on their TVs and will also be featuring a number of food and drink specials for Commodore fans.

Commodore fans are encouraged to wear their black and gold to the watch parties as discounts will be provided for those wearing Vanderbilt colors. The exact addresses of the Corner Pub locations are below:

Vanderbilt’s Omaha Events

Gameday Send-offs/Pep Rallies

Date: Day of every Commodore game
Time: Approximately three hours before each Commodore game (Check for listings before each game)
Place: Hilton Garden Inn downtown Omaha (website)

Before each game, there will be a send-off party/pep rally at the team hotel – Hilton Garden Inn downtown Omaha (website) - four hours prior to the game. The location of the team hotel will be announced at a later date.

Friday’s send-off will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn downtown Omaha (1005 Dodge Street). The team will be departing at 10:15 a.m.

Pregame Reception

Date: Friday, June 24
Time: After team send-off

Following the team send-off on Friday, the National Commodore Club & Vanderbilt Alumni Association will host a pre-game tailgate party at the Holland Center’s All-Star Village, located at the corner of 12th St. and Dodge St., next to the Hilton Garden Inn. Parking is available directly across the street. The cost is $15 per person (includes food, soda and cash bar). Following the team send-off on Wednesday, the National Commodore Club & Alumni Association invite all Commodore fans to gather at DJ’s Dugout (1003 Capitol Avenue…off 10th St.) just down from the team hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn, for an informal reception.

Following the team send-off on Monday, the National Commodore Club & Alumni Association invite all Commodore fans to gather at DJ’s Dugout (1003 Capitol Avenue…off 10th St.) just down from the team hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn, for an informal reception.

Date: Saturday, June 18
Time: Two hours before Vanderbilt’s first game

A pregame reception is planned for two hours prior to the game time on Saturday, June 18th. The party will take place in the Qwest Convention Center across from TD Ameritrade Park and will include food and drinks along with a cash bar. Pregame party tickets can be purchased with your ticket order through the Vanderbilt Ticket Office for $20. Your name will be on a list at the door, so you will not need a separate ticket for the event.

Additional events in Omaha that are specific to Vanderbilt will be announced in the coming days.

CWS Specific Events in Omaha

Opening Celebration Day

Date: Friday, June 17
Time: All Day

Join the NCAA and the CWS of Omaha for a full day of free events, entertainment and new stadium celebrations designed for the whole family. Whether you have been a lifelong fan of the College World Series or this is your first time, you won’t want to miss this day long celebration of the beginning of a new era of the NCAA Men’s College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.

Vanderbilt’s open practice at TD Ameritrade Park will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday with autographs taking place after practice.

CWS Fan Fest presented by Capital One

Date: June 18-29
Time: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Every day of CWS)

This fun-filled interactive area allows fans to experience the thrills, excitement and spirit of college baseball and other NCAA sports, while learning about the Corporate Champions and Partners that support NCAA championships. The CWS Fan Fest presented by Capital One features the home run derby field, batting cages, speed-pitch booths, interactive games from a variety of NCAA sports, photo opportunities, autograph sessions, entertainment, food, prizes and Men’s College World Series merchandise. The CWS Fan Fest presented by Capital One is located at the corner of 10th and Fahey Streets on the southeast side of TD Ameritrade Park Omaha and is open daily before and between games.

Commemorative Coin Giveaway

Date: June 18
Time: 1 p.m.

At the 1 p.m. game on Saturday, June 18 a commemorative coin honoring the new home of the College World Series will be distributed to the first 6,000 fans in attendance.

Powerade NCAA Youth Clinics

Date: June 18
Time: 12:30 p.m.

The annual Powerade NCAA Youth Clinics will take place at Creighton University Sports Complex on June 19 from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for youths ages 8 to 16.

Pre- and on-site registration will be available. Check back for more details.

CWS Keychain Giveaway

Date: June 21
Time: 1 p.m.

At the 1 p.m. game on Tuesday, June 21 a CWS leather keychain will be distributed to the first 11,000 fans in attendance courtesy of NCAA official equipment supplier – Rawlings.

Road to Omaha Run

Date: June 25
Time: 9 a.m.

Online registration is now open for the inaugural Road to Omaha Run, Sunday, June 26, starting at 9 a.m. Central time. The run is part of the 2011 NCAA Men’s College World Series® (CWS). All proceeds from the 5K run will directly benefit Omaha parks and schools through the Omaha Parks Foundation, Inc. and the Fund the Future program by the NCAA and DonorsChoose.org. Runners can register or find more event information here. The registration fee is $25 for runners 19 years of age and older and $20 for runners 18 and under.

Wristband Giveaway

Date: June 27
Time: 7 p.m.

At Game 1 of the Championship Finals at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 27 a baseball-stitched wristband will be distributed to the first 4,000 fans in attendance courtesy of the NCAA and the NCAA Respect Campaign.

Closing Ceremonies & Awards Presentation

Date: June 28 or 29
Time: After championship game

Stick around after the conclusion of the Championship Finals for a final celebration of the 2011 NCAA Men’s College World Series and its newly crowned champion, which will include the national championship trophy presentation, the Most Outstanding Player Award presentation, interviews, and video, musical and pyrotechnic tributes.
