Learning and Memory

The purpose of this course is to review the empirical and theoretical literature on learning and memory. This is done by lecture and demonstrations. One goal for the class is to improve memory skills. There are three one-hour exams and a final. There is a paper option, which can replace an exam grade.

Paper Option

A paper may be substituted for one of the exams. The paper's general topic must be approved by June 12. An outline of the paper is due June 18, and the paper is due June 30. The paper should be 10-15 pages long, using APA-style referencing (see textbook as example). The paper should review some research area related to learning and memory, but should also relate this research to knowledge gained in this class. Students are encouraged to use the Social Science Citation Index, the Psychological Abstracts, PsycLIT on CD, and PsychInfo
