Despite destroying the Death Star at the conclusion of the film, Luke remains immature. Lucas� hero remains relatively flat, and has not experienced much self-development. Some critics forgive Lucas’ lack of character development in Star Wars since the movie incorporated such fantastical special effects and modernized the genre of space SF; however, Luke remains immature in The Empire Strikes Back.
